At Ruby Family Dentistry we use Xeomin® for the some of the following esthetic and therapeutic purposes:
Forehead: injections along the frontalis to smooth forehead wrinkles
Glabella: injections along the corrugators and procerus muscles to smooth lines between the eyebrows (“elevens”)
Crow’s Feet: injections around the outer corners of the eye to soften fine lines around the eyes.
Lower face: DAO injections to relax the muscles that pull down on the lip corners to create a subtle lift
Masseter or Temporalis TMD Treatment: Alleviating symptoms related to clenching and grinding
Lip: Injections to treat gummy smile, asymmetrical smile, or lip-flip
Dynamic wrinkles: if you have lines that only appear when you emote/squint/frown we can typically eliminate them. As we age and our lines become more static/etched in, visble at rest- they may need multiple treatments to alleviate. We may only be able to soften them rather than eliminate completely.
Realistic expectations: you understand that the treatment is temporary (average around 3 months) and aims to improve the appearance of wrinkles rather than replicate a surgical procedure (ie facelift). The result is typically very natural.
No contraindications: you are not pregnant or diagnosed with a neuromuscular condition like myasthenia gravis. Botox treatments are widely considered very safe. The medication stays close to where it is injected rather than circulating through your body. True reactions/allergies are extremely rare. Typically side effects will just include brief localized redness at the injection site with a possibility for bruising and you are able to go about your day right after the appointment.
